If you’re an experienced half marathon runner and fancy pushing your limits on a scenic trail, challenge yourself at the Rivington Half Marathon.
Last year’s race was a huge success and the organisers, Chorley Ladies FC, were able to fund training facilities, kit and transport during their 2017/2018 season in the Women’s Premier League. The ladies have had a number of
successful years marshalling so know the route inside out. This event is the Ladies main fundraiser to ensure that they can continue to play in the women's Premier League.
The route covers 13.1 miles of pathed, tarmacked and rough terrain, the scenic course works its way through the rural parts of Bolton and Chorley.

The whole event is a marshalled and is supported by Mountain Rescue for any first aid.
On the starting field you’ll find the registration tents, food stalls and storage tents for your belongings. Here you can re-fuel, thoroughly warm up, and leave any unnecessary items safely stored away.
Anyone over the age of 17 is welcome to take part, we have a range of prizes to give away for all categories. Better yet, this year we’ve got our very own photographer from Sport Sunday who’ll be taking action shots at different points across the course.
